For years I’ve drawn people’s houses and buildings – as gifts for new owners, to make into holiday cards, note cards or party invitations, or just for the fun of capturing an interesting building on paper.
After living just outside New York City for years, my husband and I made a pre-retirement move to the East Bay of Rhode Island. The wild flowers there were so striking that I started a series of watercolors using my training in botanical watercolors from the New York Botanical Garden.
Our then dog Snoopy had such a wonderful face that I made him into my first pet portrait. Practicing on the dogs of friends and neighbors resulted in canine faces that are more familiar to me than to their owners. So far, besides Snoopy, are Molly, LuluBelle and Darby with a couple of more in progress.
Now retired from my career in finance and accounting, there’s time to do more drawing and watercolors. If you would like to discuss a custom piece, please let me know. We can work from photos or on site, whatever works best for you.
